DISTRICT SECRETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The District Secretary is responsible for assisting the District Governor with correspondence and various administrative tasks including maintaining district records and databases and sending reports and returns to Rotary International.
District Secretary Responsibilities also include:
- Train Club Secretaries in the use of ClubRunner to perform their duties which includes the following:
- Sending dues invoices
- Recording member payments
- Keeping accurate records of members contact information
- Taking attendance using ClubRunner and sending it weekly or monthly to the District
- Available, as needed, to all Club Secretaries

Complete special assignments for the District Governor as requested

Assist the District Treasurer with correspondence to clubs regarding collection of dues payments

Attend District Governor Executive Committee meetings

Serve as a member of the District Conference Committee

Available to all District Committee Chairs as needed
ROLE OF THE CLUB SECRETARY
As club secretary you help your club run smoothly and effectively. You also monitor club trends to help identify strengths and areas for improvement, and share this information with club and district leaders.
What you do

Maintain membership records: Update your club membership data. Your club invoice is based on the number of members in Rotary's database for your club as of 1 July and 1 January. Rotary International sends the club invoice by email and mail. Save paper by opting out of the paper (mailed) version.

Maintain minutes of club, board, and committee meetings

Work with incoming secretary to ensure smooth transition
